Overcoming immense personal challenges—including homelessness as a young mother—she defied the odds to build a thriving career and launched Symplicity Communications at age 39 with no prior entrepreneurial experience. Under her visionary leadership, the company has grown exponentially, securing landmark technology sector deals and nearly doubling its revenue in the past year alone.

A defining milestone in her journey was relocating Symplicity Communications to the iconic building at 60 Monroe Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., now bearing the company’s name. This move not only symbolizes a bold era of growth but also reinforces her deep-rooted commitment to revitalizing Grand Rapids' business community.

In recognition of her extraordinary achievements and enduring impact, Ripley was named 2025 Woman of the Year by West Michigan Woman — a prestigious honor celebrating her leadership, innovation, and service. She also serves as a Board Member for InForum and on the Technology Council of West Michigan, where she continues to champion women’s leadership and elevate the tech landscape.
