Laurent Mechain is a seasoned professional with an extensive background in strategic alliances,
go-to-market strategies, and cloud business. With a track record of achieving remarkable growth and
driving transformation initiatives, he has held key leadership roles at prominent technology companies.
As the VP and Head of Strategic Alliances at Elastic since August 2020, Laurent is responsible for
leading global strategy and alliance execution with cloud providers, global systems integrators, and
technology partners. Under his leadership, Elastic achieved strong cloud growth, earning global partner
awards from Google Cloud (2020, 2021, 2023), AWS (2023) and Microsoft (2021, 2023).

Prior to joining Elastic, Laurent worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from June 2019 to July 2020 as
the Global Partner Go-To-Market Lead for Microsoft Workloads on AWS. He successfully led the go-to-market strategy and execution for partners. He also managed the global Microsoft Alliance at AWS, overseeing the strategic alignment and joint customer support between the two companies.

Laurent's career also includes roles at Capgemini America and Microsoft Corporation, where he held various leadership positions. At Capgemini, he served as the North America Microsoft Alliance Lead, managing a portfolio of $300M+ Services revenue. During his tenure at Microsoft Corporation, Laurent held several director-level roles, including Business Operations Excellence, Channel Programs Enablement and Strategy, Sales Transformation and Channel Business Development, and Enterprise Business Planning and Strategy.
Laurent holds a Masters of Science degree in Information Technology and Business from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers in Paris, France. He also completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Computing
