Alex Stanton, Principal, ThinkPurple
An MSP founder and former New Charter CIO, Alex Stanton runs ThinkPurple, advising PE/VC-backed portfolio companies and executive teams on AI strategy, cybersecurity posture, and organizational transformation. He hosts and speaks at MSP, cybersecurity, and M&A events globally — from Empower work sessions to the São Paulo MSP Summit — and has published original research in agentic AI security through his Reflexive-Core framework. He serves as director of enterprise partnerships at the Foundation for Agentic Networks, the organizational home of Project NANDA, a Cambridge initiative building open infrastructure for an Internet of AI Agents.
Stanton founded his first company at 14 in rural Idaho and spent over two decades building it into a back-to-back Inc. 5000 and Best Places to Work Managed Service & Security Provider. He led that company through an exit to New Charter Technologies, where he served as CIO of the resulting national MSP/MSSP platform that consisted of 25 operating companies, 1,200 employees, $250M in revenue, responsible for 5,000+ SMBs and 120,000+ end users.
At New Charter, Stanton co-designed the Digital Transformation Methodology, leading transformation efforts internally and alongside customers. He worked with the M&A team across the portfolio on integrations, and helping founders navigate the process of being acquired and what comes after the transaction.
