Rick Reed has more than 23 years of experience in telecommunications, sales, sponsorships, media and advertising. He is currently serving as the vice president of channel sales – central region for Avant Communications, responsible for leading strategy and growth of a 25-state territory in the U.S. During his five years in the role, he has led exponential record growth in the number of new clients and revenue. In addition, he was responsible for constructing, opening and managing Avant’s second U.S. headquarters and executive briefing center, known as the BattleLab, in Dallas.
Reed previously served as the senior vice president of U.S. sales for Informa Exhibitions which includes the Channel Partners and Channel Futures brands. He joined Informa in June 2015 as the vice president of sales where he was responsible for strategy and driving growth of the events and media platforms for Channel Partners. In his first year in the role, he helped lead the rebranding of the fall Channel Partners event, streamlined sales processes and grew revenues 30% year over year. During his three-year tenure, Reed led Channel Partners to over 45% growth which resulted in the Channel Partners Conference & Expo to be recognized as one of Tradeshow Executives’ 50 fastest growing shows in 2017.
Before Informa, Reed spent 15 years at AT&T where he had leadership roles in finance, marketing, operations, sponsorships and sales. In addition, he was awarded the prestigious AT&T Service Excellence Award and participated in the AT&T Invest for Success leadership program.
Reed holds a degree in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he was in the Business Leadership Challenge Program.
