Michael is a Kiwi (New Zealander) and a serial founder, with a knack for developing high-value lean SaaS solutions that deliver exactly what customers want. He and his team of co-founders are committed to the ethos of keeping things simple. They take complex tasks such as data migrations and cloud SFTP and make them simple to use and scalable for global customers.
In 2013 Lawson co-founded Linewize, a content filtering system for K-12 education. It was acquired in 2017 and the core Linewize technology has been globally adopted. In 2018 he co-founded Couchdrop, taking secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) to the cloud and enabling clients to move to cloud SFTP as well and connect their own cloud storage to SFTP. This ubiquitous connectivity meant that customers could transfer files across platforms and they started to use Couchdrop as a migration tool.
However, Couchdrop was never optimized for data migration and Movebot was born in 2019 as a new solution for data migrations. Movebot is a data migration tool that is easy to use, secure and lightning fast. It is being used by hundreds of MSPs and end customers globally.
Lawson is passionate about developing tools that help MSPs deliver great results for their clients. Some new developments in the pipeline will help MSPs further by providing more insights and functionality for their clients.
