Sammy Kinlaw was named senior vice president, Endpoint Solutions, Americas, at Tech Data in October 2020. In this role, Kinlaw leads the strategy, relationships and business operations of the companyâ€™s Endpoint Solutions Americas business. He is responsible for ensuring the sustainment and growth of Tech Dataâ€™s world-class vendor partners; and for driving to market the products, services and solutions that support the connected edge and enable work from anywhere and modern workplace capabilities. Kinlaw is focused on accelerating Tech Dataâ€™s device go-to-market strategy, interlocked with next-generation growth initiatives around security, cloud, IoT & data analytics.
Prior to joining Tech Data, Kinlaw spent three years with Lexmark International, most recently as worldwide vice president of channel and OEM sales. In this role, he was responsible for Lexmarkâ€™s path to market sales. Prior to his time at Lexmark, Kinlaw spent 13 years with Lenovo. His last role there was vice president, North America Channel, Latin America Export and U.S. SMB Sales. He began his career with IBM in 1993, working his way up to regional business unit executive in sales and distribution.
Kinlaw is frequently recognized by the industry for his work with partners. He has been named as one of CRNâ€™s â€ťMost Influential Channel Executivesâ€ť for the last five years, including in the recently published 2020 edition.
He holds a bachelorâ€™s degree in marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife, Andra, and their two children.
