As the Principal of IoT Advisory Group, Stephen is dedicated to serving companies who are launching, investigating or acquiring IoT and AI assets for consumer and commercial industries.
IoT Advisory Group works with clients around the world to identify the next generation of technologies, how they impact outcomes and streamline service for their customers. He holds an Executive in Residence (EIR) seat at Plug & Play and Silicon Catalyst, and currently is an advisor for three funded start-ups and a board member of private technology companies.
Prior to launching IoT Advisory Group, worked as a COO and CRO, Stephen led the sale of Broadcomâ€™s IoT business to Cypress Semiconductor. He worked at four start-ups including BroadDaylight, sold to Kanna and WebGain, which split into Oracle and Borland. He served as the COO/CRO for Catch&Release, Inc. then transitioned those roles to full time staff members.
Prior to Broadcom and launching IoT Advisory Group, DiFranco worked at HP where he was responsible for sales and marketing of the America Enterprise Partner Organizations for what is now HPE and Americas Sales & GM for what is now HPI. He joined HP in 2010 leading the Americas PC Group Partner Network before leading the Americas PC Americas Sales Group. Stephen spent 5 years at HP.
For two years, Stephen worked for Lenovo as it transitioned the IBM Thinkâ„¢ line of PCs. Starting by leading its retail teams before being asked to also lead its commercial channels sales teams, Stephen worked with all the industry OEMs while leading AMDâ€™s Consumer Group.
At AMD he was Corporate VP of Consumer Sales & Marketing responsible for the growth of AMD based PCs and notebook computers worldwide. During his tenure AMD enjoyed accelerated market growth in the US, Europe, CIS, South Asia and China. DiFranco reintroduced a marketing measurement systems and new consumer marketing segmentation to AMD.He lives in San Mateo, California with his family
