Where much of the tech industry is bursting at the seams with young, diverse energy, the channel is a little slower to evolve. Why? First off, none of us majored in tech and telecom indirect sales channels in college. Most of us fell into this space almost by accident—and lucky us. While many young people are eager to start their careers in the tech field, it usually takes a few years for them to understand the promise and possibility of the channel. Secondly, the channel is perceived as being slower to adopt a more inclusive and supportive ethos than other industries. While most of us don’t mean any harm, sometimes we don’t recognize the power of our words and our actions on people that don’t fit the traditional channel mold. So how can we change that? It isn’t that complicated: It’s about mentorship, allyship, and honest conversation.

In this session attendees will learn how to:

  • Talk to young, diverse people about the potential that the channel holds
  • Make sure you’re an ally for those people as they navigate the channel world
  • Foster rising talent
  • Create an inclusive work environment
  • Be a safe space for those who are trying to make a home for themselves here
