Numerous M&A options exist for channel partners looking to scale or exit their businesses, but those options vary considerably. While private equity-driven consolidation in the technology advisor space caught fire about two years ago, many experts wonder what lies ahead. Will the pace of new superagency formation continue unabated along with eager investors boasting of their value proposition to lure sellers? Partners’ phones may still be ringing with offers but this might be the moment to stop and consider all options out there. This session will examine the confusion surrounding the different players and what they bring to the table for a seller. Superagency and partner rollup may broadly describe these organizations, but partners would do well to see the differences between these companies including the financial terms they offer, along with the value proposition to the seller’s customers. Attendees will hear from a panel of different acquiring organizations who will discuss key questions partners should be asking as they consider a transaction.
Attendees will learn:
- What a seller should ask about rolled equity
- How to decipher a capital table and security type
- The impact of upside potential scenarios
- How increased cost of capital relative to debt is impacting valuations
